THE COLLECTION TELLS THE STORY OF THE COLORS THAT ARISE IN THE REVERBERATIONS OF THE WATER AND REACH THE MATERIAL.

The colours of the city of Venice have always been an endless source of inspiration for artists from all over the world.

Cromie, the elaboration of the Venezia collection of Opificio Ceramico wants to be a homage to the beauty of this unique world city. We have drawn inspiration from its iconic bas reliefs and the tones of the Lagoon to create a new collection that uses just a few characteristics of the previous collection but remains independent of it.

In Venezia Cromie, we find the smooth surfaces of the “Lido” version and the structured surfaces of the bas-reliefs of the “Calle”, “Fondaco” and “Rialto” versions. There are 12 colours, which all draw their inspiration from the city. An azur range that draws its inspiration of the sky and sea, greens that are reminiscent of the hues of the Lagoon, the variety of white and powder pink that are reminiscent of the stucco of the noble palaces, the grey tones that are typical of the “masegni” blocks that characterize the city’s paths and piazzas

THE COLORS OF THE MATERIAL DO NOT REMAIN CLOSED IN THEIR SECRET. BEAUTY EMERGES AS A FIRST FELT AND SENSUAL STEP TOWARDS A DESTINATION TO BE REACHED.

What makes the collection so special is the depth of the glaze and the many tonal effects that distinguish every single carefully hand-painted tile. Each tile is a work of ceramic art with all the glazing that the water colour brush strokes give to the raw material. Water is the determining element in the spread of colour on each tile, just as water is the iconic element of the City of the Lagoon.

The Gloss version enhances the project by adding to a satinized opaque tint, a glossy version in which the tonal effects are even deeper. This version is available in the smooth version Lido, in all sizes, and in Rialto, Calle, Fondaco textures.
