SUSTAINABILITY

NeoClay™

NeoClay™ tiles are made in places in which all the productive process has become natural and sustainable. From the selection of the raw materials and water savings to use of energy that is self-produced and renewable.

TILES MADE BY THE SUN

The decision to install photovoltaic panels on the entire roof of the factory in Serramazzoni was driven by the need to be largely independent energetically. The electric power produced is used for the shopfloor machinery, the extruders, dryers, cutting machines, lights and forklift trucks.

RECOVERY OF THE SCRAP MATERIAL FROM PROCESSING REINTRIDUCING THE SURPLUS IN THE PRODUCTION CYCLE

In NeoClay™, the clays are 100% natural and (equally natural) minerals such as basalt, quartz or feldspar. The wet mixture ejected during the process is returned to the machine to be extruded again. This process is continuous, so all the waste is recycled.

An environmental and comprehensive project for producing sustainable ceramics by making the entire production process more sustainable up until the use of recycled paper even in packaging, adapting the entire work process to the “no waste” motto. This also all goes towards funding new product research projects.

THE END PRODUCT SCRAPS OF NEOCLAY™ ARE PERFECT FOR BEING RETURNED TO THE PRODUCTIVE SYSTEM WITH ALL THE RESULTING ADVANTAGES FOR THE ENVIRONMENT.

The tiles that have been fired but cannot be used because they are flawed or broken are used to make coloured grit or powders. In fact, as they are coloured full body they can create fine grit useful to be reused in the ceramics industry. Thus also the end product scraps of NeoClay™ are perfect for being returned to the productive system with all the resulting advantages for the environment.
On the other hand, glazed product scraps are sold to specialized recycling companies that crush them and use them as building material to be recycled.

ABSENCE OF THE GLAZING LINE

The production of “homogeneous mass” end products, do not require a glazing line. This results in absence of waste water and water saving.
