REPETIT

Project by Marco Spatti

Colour: Silver Grey and Brick - Grout: Mapei Kerapoxy 111 Moon White

The name “Repetit” comes from the fusion of the Latin repetita (“to repeat”) and the French petit (“small”), highlighting the essence of a project that makes the repetition of the smallest element its distinctive stylistic signature.

The inspiration comes from the world of yarns, reinterpreted through a ceramic and plaster proposal that creates a visual and tactile weave. The tiles, characterized by small irregular grains resembling rice kernels, form a seamless and continuous surface once installed. From a distance, the surface appears as a compact and rhythmic fabric; up close, subtle reliefs emerge, inviting direct touch.

The strength of the project lies in the role assigned to the grout: a compositional element capable of shaping and modulating the final aesthetic.

DESIGNER

MARCO SPATTI

In 2015 he founded his own studio, where he nurtures an interest in research and experimentation. Through a design approach based on reflection and continuous investigation, the studio pursues the goal of creating intelligent and sustainable objects that carry with them a certain, essential degree of innovation. “The inspiration behind Repetit comes from the textile world. I was interested in the idea of recreating on a surface the visual and tactile experience of a coarse-knit fabric. Thus, ceramics and plaster became the weft and warp with which to weave these new surfaces.”
